John Henry Lewin, Jr., an experienced and accomplished commercial litigator in Baltimore and throughout Maryland, has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of mediation, arbitration, and related dispute resolution services in the mid-Atlantic.
Mr. Lewin is a former Partner and Chair of the Litigation Department at Venable, Baetjer and Howard, LLP, where his law practice focused on a wide variety of business matters including antitrust, securities, contracts, construction, and real estate. Prior to his private law practice, Mr. Lewin was a former Division Chief and a former Assistant State’s Attorney in the Maryland State’s Attorney Office.
A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Lewin was listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and was described by researchers as “a tough, effective litigator – professional and a pleasure to work with.” He was listed in the Best Lawyers in America’s Business Litigation area from 1995 until 2005, when he retired from the practice of law.
A bar leader on many stages, he is a Past President of the Bar Association of Baltimore City and a former Member of the Maryland State Bar Board of Governors. He is a Fellow of the American Law Institute, and a former Panel Attorney of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights under Law.
