The McCammon Group is pleased to congratulate one of our own, Honorable Martin P. Welch (Ret.), who was awarded the 2019 Anselm Sodaro Judicial Civility Award by the Maryland State Bar Association. The award was presented to Judge Welch at the Maryland State Bar Association Legal Summit and Annual Meeting on June 15, 2019 in Ocean City, MD.
The Honorable Anselm Sodaro Judicial Civility Award is presented annually to a sitting judge of the District, Circuit or Appellate Courts of Maryland who demonstrates exceptional judicial temperament, civility, and courtesy to attorneys, litigants, and others. Though retired, Judge Welch is often recalled as a Senior Judge to assist the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
Judge Welch retired in 2014 after more than twenty-one years of distinguished judicial service, including ten years as Judge in Charge of the Family Division and four years as Chief Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Prior to his service on the bench, he spent twelve years in the Baltimore City Solicitor’s Office, first in the Contracts and Tax, Pensions and Finance Sections and later in the Corporate Division. A leader in the community, he has served on the boards of numerous educational, charitable, and business organizations. Judge Welch joined The McCammon Group in 2015.
