The Honorable Daniel M. Long (Ret.) has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services in the mid-Atlantic region.
Judge Long recently retired after over thirty years of distinguished public service. Judge Long served as Judge for the Circuit Court of Somerset County for twenty-six years, during which time he served as Circuit Administration Judge and County Administrative Judge. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Long was elected as a Member of the Maryland House of Delegates, where he served admirably for seven years while also maintaining a successful private law practice in Somerset and Worcester Counties. Judge Long is a Recipient of the Judge Anselm Sodaro Judicial Civility Award from the Maryland State Bar Association, and he was selected as 2015’s “Judge of the Year” by the Litigation Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. Judge Long now brings this exemplary record of service and achievement to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation, arbitration, and special master needs of lawyers and litigants throughout Maryland and beyond.
Since 1995, The McCammon Group has provided ADR services including mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, special master, judge pro tempore, med/arb, neutral evaluation, hearing officer, fact finder, and conciliation; as well as related facilitation, training, and consulting services. It consists of eighty-two Neutrals including retired judges and practicing attorneys located throughout Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Importantly, throughout this time The McCammon Group has achieved a settlement rate of approximately 85% in its mediation work. The McCammon Group is committed to the proposition that ADR processes provide individuals, as well as public and private entities, with many substantial benefits including effective and prompt resolution of disputes, self-determination, cost savings, timeliness, flexibility, and confidentiality.
