Hon. J. Frederick Sharer (Ret.) Joins The McCammon Group

The Honorable J. Frederick Sharer, retired Judge of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland and the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of Maryland, has joined The McCammon Group (TMG), the mid-Atlantic’s leading mediation, arbitration, facilitation, training & consulting firm.

Judge Sharer served the the Court of Special Appeals and the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of Maryland with distinction until his retirement in April 2008.  He is a former Chair of the Maryland Jury Reform Commission and a former Member of the Executive Committee of the Maryland Judicial Conference.  Prior to the bench, he was a Partner in the law firm of Wilson & Sharer in Cumberland, Maryland.  He served as a Deputy State’s Attorney in Allegany County and as City Solicitor for the City of Cumberland.  Judge Sharer’s general practice included a wide variety of cases including but not limited to personal injury, product liability, construction, real estate, family law, and trusts & estates.

In addition to his notable legal credentials, Judge Sharer has served the community as a founding Member of the Allegany County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the Allegany County Substance Abuse Task Force.  He is a past President of the Greater Cumberland Jaycees and an adjunct Faculty Member of Frostburg State University and Allegany Community College.
