Guy K. Tower Rejoins The McCammon Group

Guy K. Tower, former Executive Director of The Virginia Bar Association (VBA), has rejoined The McCammon Group (TMG), a leading mediation, arbitration, facilitation, training, and consulting firm.

Tower was a founding Member of The McCammon Group in 1995, leaving in 2003 to serve as the Director of Judicial Education for the Supreme Court of Virginia. In 2005, he assumed leadership of the VBA, where, among other responsibilities, he was a principal lobbyist before the Virginia General Assembly for the Association and affiliated organizations, such as the Boyd-Graves Conference and the Virginia Family Law Coalition.

Tower’s distinguished legal career has included positions as Chair of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Commercial Section at Kaufman & Canoles, P.C., Partner at Hunton & Williams L.L.P., and Corporate Counsel for a predecessor of Norfolk Southern Corporation. He is a former Chair of the Business Law Section of the Virginia State Bar and of the Law Practice Management Division of the VBA.

In addition to his legal and mediation practices, Tower has been an Adjunct Faculty Member at William & Mary School of Law, teaching alternative dispute resolution law and practice and mediation advocacy. He has also taught negotiation skills and techniques for resolving business disputes to graduate business school students at Old Dominion University.

Tower is a former Member and Vice Chair of the Virginia Alternative Dispute Resolution Joint Committee and a former Member of the Board of Directors and President of the Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation and the Virginia Beach Library Foundation. In July of this year, he received the VBA’s Walker Award of Merit for “exceptional leadership.”
